Context²
Setting the stage in Europe
In Europe, the cradle of the auto industry and home to its legacy marques, XPENG can’t phone it in.
During IAA Mobility (International Motor Show) 2025, the world’s most competitive automotive arena in Munich, XPENG was preparing to announce the European debut of its new G6 and G9.
The launch hinged on an invitation designed to bring 300+ global media and KOLs to XPENG’s expo booth, alongside briefing slides for a 7-day media test drive event. These visual touchpoints would help set the tone for XPENG’s next chapter on the European stage.
Therefore, this global leader in smart electric vehicles (EVs) welcomed me into the XPENG Taskforce.
In Europe, the cradle of the auto industry and home to its most established brands, XPENG can’t afford to phone it in.

Automotive media are always eager for what’s next.
Beyond the new G6 and G9, the invitation was intended to signal what lay ahead, including the Next P7 and IRON, XPENG’s retro-futuristic vehicle and its first humanoid robot, while also serving as a clear schedule for the event.
To frame these products for a European audience and build anticipation around their presence at one of the world’s most influential auto shows, I used the side silhouette of the Next P7 and a backward glance of IRON as the key visual.

The media test drive brought together press and KOLs from 27 countries. The opening deck, for on-the-ground media, was a working tool, not just a backdrop.
It needed to do two things at once: frame the first impression for media and guide them through the information that mattered.
I designed the briefing slides to balance XPENG’s brand language with the practical needs of a media-facing presentation. Key information was clearly structured to support content production workflows while reinforcing XPENG’s premium image.

For XPENG’s senior team hosting the media test drive, time was limited and clarity was critical. I created a concise and visualised slide transition guide and a setup checklist, allowing presenters to grasp key setup and flow details within seconds.
For designers supporting follow-on European launch events, I set up reference grids and a standardised, reusable PowerPoint file to ensure consistency and efficiency across future campaigns.

The invitation and presentation materials served as key working assets for the events. Both deliverables, in practice, exceeded the original brief in different ways.

The invitation. Positioned as a key visual for future regional extensions and localisation across European markets.

The keynote slides. Went on to serve as a template, with layouts and pages used and adapted in subsequent launches, including Hungary, Slovenia, Croatia, Switzerland and Qatar.⁴
